MONTEBELLO - 5 years - Old edition - 42%
Montebello rum is an exceptional agricole rum, passionately crafted by the renowned Carrère distillery, located in Petit-Bourg in Guadeloupe. This traditional distillery, also known as the Montebello distillery in tribute to the neighborhood where it is situated, has been preserving a unique know-how since 1930, the year it was founded by the Dolomie family. Since December 2011, management has been led by Grégory and Dominique Marsolle, who ensure the preservation and innovation of this historic house.
Committed to a pioneering eco-responsible approach, the Montebello distillery fully valorizes the by-products from sugarcane crushing: the dry bagasse is used as a renewable energy source to power the steam presses crushing the cane, thus contributing to sustainable and environmentally friendly production. This agricole rum also stands out for the exceptional quality of its raw materials, sourced exclusively from hand-harvested canes in exceptional volcanic terroirs, notably Petit-Bourg, Goyave, Basse-Terre, Lamentin, and Sainte-Rose.
Proud of its heritage, the Montebello distillery is one of the last in the Caribbean area to use traditional steam machines, bearing witness to the richness of an ancestral process that gives its rums remarkable authenticity.
Discover here a rare and precious old edition of Montebello: a rum aged 5 years, no longer marketed today. An essential bottle for passionate lovers of this emblematic distillery that we at Clos des Spiritueux particularly cherish.
