BIELLE - Cask Strength 2007 - 57.3%
The Bielle distillery is ideally located on the paradisiacal island of Marie-Galante, in the heart of the French Antilles. Originally founded in 1769 by Jean-Pierre Bielle, who cultivated coffee on this island known for its agricultural richness, the distillery's origins expanded with his sons in 1826, who created a refinery-sugar factory covering 53 hectares. The artisanal production of rum truly began only at the beginning of the 20th<\/sup> century. After a period of abandonment following World War II, the property was bought in 1955 by Paul Rameaux. In 1975, management passed to the SEDB (Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle), which restored its full brilliance. Today, the Bielle distillery is recognized as one of the most prestigious in the French Antilles. The sugar cane used comes exclusively from small local producers, guaranteeing exceptional quality. The cane juice, extracted using two traditional mills, ferments naturally for 48 hours before being carefully distilled using three stainless steel Savalle columns, symbolizing a method combining tradition and modernity.
This exceptional rum, aged 8 years, was rigorously selected. Distilled in 2007, it benefits from a cask strength bottling, uncut, carried out in 2014 to preserve all its aromatic power and purity.
