BIELLE - Premium White - 59%
The Bielle distillery is located on the paradisiacal island of Marie-Galante, in the heart of the French Antilles. Originally founded in 1769 by Jean-Pierre Bielle, who cultivated coffee on this historically rich island, the distillery gradually specialized in rum production. In 1826, his sons developed a refinery-sugar factory covering 53 hectares, laying the foundations for an exceptional rum tradition. Rum production on the estate officially began at the start of the 20th<\/sup> century. After a period of abandonment post-World War II, the property was taken over in 1955 by Paul Rameaux. In 1975, the SEDB (Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle) took over the distillery, the residence, and the entire estate, making it today one of the major references in Caribbean rum.
The distillery focuses on quality and tradition by sourcing exclusively from small local sugarcane producers, ensuring an authentic product respectful of the terroirs. Cane juice is extracted using two traditional mills, then naturally fermented for 48 hours before being distilled in three high-precision stainless steel Savalle columns. This method ensures a rum with a unique character, combining finesse and aromatic intensity.
The Premium white rum offered by Bielle benefits from an exceptional distillation process carried out in two stages: a first distillation in a Creole Savalle column, followed by a second distillation in a copper Muller still, thus providing unparalleled purity and gustatory complexity.
