SAVANNA - 9 years old - Ex-Cognac and Ex-Armagnac Agricultural Rum 2010 - Single Cask No. 1055 - 55% ABV
The Savanna Distillery is located on the Island of Réunion, an exceptional terroir known for its unique agricultural rums. Founded and designed by the famous engineer Emile Hugot between 1948 and 1950, it is situated in Saint-Paul and historically linked to the eponymous sugar factory. In 1982, the Savanna Distillery acquired a distillation workshop dedicated exclusively to the production of light rum intended for export, following a strategic partnership with a major player in the German market. This acquisition marked a decisive turning point in the technological and qualitative evolution of the house, allowing it to diversify its processes and continuously improve the quality of its rums.
Today, the Savanna Distillery is recognized for exporting the majority of its production to demanding professionals. Like many traditional distilleries, it uses batch fermentation, also called the "mother tank" process, consisting of 8 fermenters of 100 m3 each, accompanied by fermentation satellites. This artisanal method guarantees a product of superior quality, a testament to Réunion's expertise.
Savanna Unshared Cask is an exceptional agricultural rum, aged 9 years, distilled in 2010. It benefits from a unique aging process beginning in ex-Cognac barrels, then refined in ex-Armagnac barrels, thus bringing remarkable aromatic complexity, combining finesse and elegance.
