RHUM HSE - Exceptional aged rum - Sauternes finish - Château La Tour Blanche - 41%
HSE (Habitation Saint Etienne) is an iconic reference of Martinican rum, formerly known as Habitation La Maugée, founded in 1863. Originally a traditional Martinican sugar mill, it was transformed into a distillery in 1882 by Amedée Aubery, a visionary and young industrial captain. He modernized the facilities while harnessing the natural energy of the Lézarde river, which still today powers the distillation and dilution of sugarcane juices, ensuring a unique terroir.
In 1994, after judicial recovery, Yves and José Hayot took over this historic estate to carry out significant renovation work, thus bringing new life to this jewel classified as a Historic Monument. The rum from Habitation Saint Etienne is distilled in a traditional copper Creole column from the famous Distillerie du Simon, located in François, Martinique, which preserves an authentic artisanal know-how.
This HSE Sauternes Finish Château La Tour Blanche rum is an integral part of the prestigious range of extra-old rums called "Les Finitions du Monde". After a traditional aging of 8 years in oak barrels, this exceptional rum undergoes a one-year finish in barrels of ex-Sauternes from Château La Tour Blanche, a 1st Classified Growth of Sauternes, thus bringing a rare aromatic complexity, combining the power of old rum with the fruity sweetness and richness of the sweet wine.
