BOLOGNE - Dark Sail - 41%
The Bologne Distillery, located in Guadeloupe, is one of the oldest and most prestigious agricultural rum distilleries in the Antilles. In operation since 1887, it takes its name from the former owners of the sugar plantation established on the fertile slopes of the majestic La Soufrière. A Protestant family, the Bolognes migrated to Holland during the religious wars, then settled in Brazil, then a Dutch colony, from 1580 to cultivate sugarcane. Expelled from Brazil and then Martinique, the Bolognes arrived in Guadeloupe in 1654. The Bologne plantation and sugar mill endured many trials over the centuries, linked to colonial history and the French Revolution. It was under the visionary leadership of Louis Sargenton-Callarden in 1930 that the estate specialized in producing exceptional Rhum Agricole, a symbol of traditional Guadeloupean craftsmanship.
Bologne Dark Sail is a Vieux Rum of great finesse, distilled in a traditional copper column still, ensuring purity and aromatic richness. This rum is then carefully aged in French oak barrels for a period ranging from 3 to 6 years, imparting woody, vanilla, and spice notes that will delight both connoisseurs and amateurs. Perfect for enjoying neat or in premium cocktails, Bologne Dark Sail embodies all the richness and complexity of the Guadeloupean terroir.
