RHUM JM - Vintage 1976 - 50%
The birth of JM rums takes place in the heart of lush vegetation, where one of the most beautiful distilleries in Martinique is located, at the Fonds-Préville estate in Macouba. Founded in 1845 by Jean-Marie Martin, this distillery gave rise to the iconic "JM" brand, marking its rums with his initials. From the beginning, JM established itself as a reference in the world of quality agricole rums. In the 1910s, the distillery passed into the hands of Ernest Crassous de Médeuil and his brother Gustave, managers and owners of the Bellevue estate. Following numerous improvements and modernization works, the two estates merged, becoming the Habitation Fonds-Préville. Today, the SCA Héritiers Crassous de Médeuil is majority-owned by the prestigious Groupe Bernard Hayot, guaranteeing the excellence and traditional know-how of JM rum.
The sugar canes are carefully cultivated on the Fonds-Préville estate, which covers 225 hectares, located on a unique terroir: the rich volcanic slopes of Montagne Pelée. This geographical specificity gives the canes an exceptional aromatic profile. The fermented juices are distilled in two traditional Creole copper columns, up to a maximum of 72°, to preserve the authenticity of the natural aromas of the sugar canes. The distillery also benefits from pure spring water coming directly from Montagne Pelée, contributing to the uniqueness and finesse of JM rums.

Finally, the aromatic richness and power of this rum make it a unique sensory experience, essential for enthusiasts of vintage rums.
