The Neisson Distillery is ideally located in Carbet, in Martinique, the historical and geographical heart of exceptional agricultural rum production. Founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers, this prestigious family distillery embodies the excellence and authenticity of Martinican rum. Jean Neisson, a passionate chemical engineer, dedicated his life to revolutionizing and perfecting traditional distillation techniques, making each bottle a true nectar. Today, his descendants, Claudine and then her son Grégory, proudly continue this tradition by respecting ancestral methods while integrating an innovative and sustainable approach. Since 2013, the distillery has embarked on a major transition towards certified organic farming, culminating in 2016 with the launch of the first organic AOC Martinique rum recognized and acclaimed by enthusiasts worldwide. Gradually, more than 40 hectares of farmland have been converted to organic, promoting responsible agriculture where each plot receives meticulous attention. Research and expertise now allow Neisson to use its own strains of indigenous yeasts, carefully selected from those naturally present on the distillery's sugar canes, thus guaranteeing a unique and authentic fermentation. The rational cultivation of cane varieties adapted to the typology of each plot, optimized water management through an economical irrigation system, as well as advanced effluent treatment contribute to a sustainable production model respectful of the environment. Everything is designed to create exceptional agricultural rums in total harmony with the natural ecosystem of the Neisson lands, combining quality, respect for nature, and Martinican traditions.
