BIELLE - Vintage 2002 - Decanter - 52.8%
\nThe Bielle distillery is located on the paradisiacal island of Marie-Galante, situated in the heart of the French Antilles. Since 1769, when Jean-Pierre Bielle cultivated coffee on this fertile land, until the creation in 1826 by his sons of a refinery-sugar factory spanning 53 hectares, this estate embodies a rich agricultural tradition. However, rum production on the estate only began at the beginning of the 20th<\/sup> century. After a period of abandonment following the Second World War, the site was taken over in 1955 by Paul Rameaux, before being taken over in 1975 by the SEDB (Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle). Today, the Bielle distillery is recognized as one of the most prestigious in the Antilles, highlighting a unique terroir. The sugar cane comes exclusively from small local producers, ensuring authenticity and quality. The cane juice, extracted using two traditional mills, is fermented for 48 hours, then precisely distilled in three Savalle stainless steel columns, thus ensuring remarkable aromatic finesse.
