BIELLE - Vintage 2009 - 42%
\nThe Bielle distillery is ideally located on the paradisiacal island of Marie-Galante, in the heart of the French Antilles. Founded in 1769, this emblematic distillery draws its roots from a family tradition dating back to Jean-Pierre Bielle, a coffee grower on the island. In 1826, his sons established a refinery-sugar factory covering 53 hectares, thus laying the foundations for local rum production. It was only at the beginning of the 20th century that rum production truly began on the estate. After a period of abandonment following World War II, the property was taken over by Paul Rameaux in 1955. Then in 1975, the distillery, the residence, and the lands were entrusted to SEDB (Société d’Exploitation de la Distillerie Bielle), ensuring a dynamic renewal.
\nToday, the Bielle distillery is recognized as one of the most prestigious and authentic in the Antilles, renowned for its commitment to quality and respect for traditions. The sugarcane used comes exclusively from carefully selected small local producers, thus guaranteeing an artisanal and authentic rum. The cane juice is extracted using two traditional mills, then naturally fermented for 48 hours to develop complex aromas. Distillation is then carried out precisely using three high-tech stainless steel Savalle columns, offering an exceptional rum that combines finesse, power, and elegance.
