RHUM LONGUETEAU - Prelude - Batch No. 7 - 49.2%
The Longueteau family settled in Guadeloupe as early as 1766, but it was not until the end of the 19th century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired a symbolic part of the Marquisate of Sainte-Marie, put up for auction following the major crisis in the sugar industry. In 1895, he purchased the iconic Habitation Espérance with the vision of transforming the estate from a traditional sugar factory into a renowned distillery. Today, it is François Longueteau who continues this family tradition by taking care of the House, the only distillery in Guadeloupe where the owner is both a passionate farmer and an experienced master distiller.
Longueteau rums are made exclusively from their own sugarcane grown on site, ensuring a unique and authentic terroir. These canes are harvested at full maturity and crushed the same day to preserve all their aromatic richness. Natural fermentation without added inputs lasts 48 hours, guaranteeing exceptional purity of the juices. The distillation is then carried out in a traditional 28-plate Savalle column, a meticulous process that gives each Longueteau rum its distinctive character and premium quality.
