RHUM HSE - Marquis de Terme Finish - Vintage 2006 - 47%
HSE (Habitation Saint Etienne), formerly known as Habitation La Maugée founded in 1863, is an essential reference of Martinican agricole rum. Originally a traditional Martinican sugar mill, it was transformed into a distillery by Amedée Aubery in 1882. This visionary industrial captain modernized the facilities while cleverly exploiting the Lézarde river, a natural source of hydraulic energy that still powers the distillery today and is used to dilute the sugar cane juices in rum production.
In 1994, after judicial recovery, the property was taken over by Yves and José Hayot, who undertook a complete restoration of the buildings, thus preserving this precious agricultural and industrial heritage now classified as a Historic Monument. The distillation of Saint-Etienne rum is still carried out in a traditional copper Creole column, emblematic of the Simon distillery, located in François, Martinique. This ancestral method guarantees an exceptional agricole rum, recognized for its aromatic richness and purity.
The HSE Marquis de Terme Vintage 2006 rum is a carefully crafted aged rum, matured for 11 years, followed by an exclusive 10-month finish in oak barrels that previously held the prestigious Bordeaux red wine from Château Marquis de Terme. This process imparts a rare complexity to the rum: delicate aromas of ripe red fruits, subtle woody elegance, and refined notes of cocoa. A unique tasting experience for lovers of exceptional rums and discerning connoisseurs.
