LA FAVORITE - White Agricultural Rum - Cœur de Canne - 50%
Clos des Spiritueux presents La Favorite, one of the last iconic independent distilleries of Martinique, alongside Neisson. Founded in 1842 on the ruins of a former sugar factory called Les Jambettes, it took the name La Favorite in 1851. Acquired by Henri Dormoy in 1909, the sugar factory was transformed into a distillery thanks to numerous technical improvements. Despite a halt in activity around 1938 due to family issues linked to Albert Dormoy's gambling, Henri's son, the distillery was revived in 1956 under the impetus of André Dormoy, who completely renovated it. Today, La Favorite cultivates sugarcane on 60 hectares and collaborates with small local producers, perpetuating the artisanal tradition. Unusually, it still operates using a steam engine dating from 1906, symbolizing ancestral know-how. The vesou (cane wine), extracted from cane juice fermented for an exceptionally long time of up to 72 hours, is distilled in two distinct Creole columns: a fully copper column in service since 1957, and a more modern column installed in 1986.
Cœur de Canne is an iconic and essential cuvée of La Favorite. This very smooth white agricultural rum is made from fresh canes carefully hand-cut, then distilled in a traditional Creole column in the heart of Martinique. This rum stands out for its incomparable freshness and authentically "cane" taste, making it an ideal choice for your cocktails, especially to prepare a traditional and flavorful Ti'Punch. Recognized as one of the best white agricultural rums in the world, this refined expression embodies Martinican excellence, combining heritage, quality, and aromatic finesse.
