RHUM LONGUETEAU - White Rum - 62%
The prestigious Longueteau family settled in Guadeloupe as early as 1766, bringing with them a rich agricultural and artisanal tradition. It was towards the end of the 19th century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the Marquisate of Sainte-Marie, put up for auction following the severe crisis affecting the local sugar industry at the time. In 1895, he radically transformed the family’s destiny by purchasing the Espérance estate, thus converting the property from a traditional sugar mill into an exceptional distillery.
Today, François Longueteau continues this magnificent story by passionately leading the house. Clos des Spiritueux is proud to present this unique distillery in Guadeloupe, whose owner is both a farmer and master distiller. All the rums produced come 100% from the estate’s own sugarcane crops. The juice is harvested and crushed by hand on the same day, when the cane reaches full maturity, ensuring a product of optimal quality. Fermentation lasts 48 hours, carried out naturally, "without tricks": no anti-foam agents, acidifiers, or additives, guaranteeing an authentic rum respectful of its terroir. Distillation is done in a modern 28-plate Savalle column, ensuring precise and refined extraction of aromas.
This Longueteau white rum at 62% alcohol comes from two emblematic cane varieties grown on the estate, the blue cane B69.566 and the red cane R579. Among the four flagship rums of the Longueteau range, it is the one closest to the heart of the distillation, offering remarkable power and intensity. This exceptional rum is especially appreciated as a digestif, served chilled to reveal its complex notes and assertive character. We invite you to discover, exclusively on our website and in our shop, the latest reissue of this great Longueteau classic, a must-have for lovers of exceptional rum.
