RHUM NEISSON - L'Esprit Bio - 66%

Neisson was founded during the interwar period, in 1931, when the brothers Adrien and Hildebert Pamphile, known as Jean Neisson, acquired the La Thieulbert estate, which then had 20 hectares of plantations. Located in the northwest of the island, not far from Saint-Pierre, at the foot of the majestic Mount Pelée, this family property is at the heart of an exceptional terroir. Adrien, the elder, committed to creating a small artisanal distillery while his younger brother, Jean Neisson, completed his studies in Paris. While Adrien produced rums in Martinique, Jean set up an import-export company and took charge of marketing these spirits in Paris. Driven by a true passion for production, he used his knowledge to design a customized Savalle column still, modified according to his directives, to optimize the quality of the distilled rums. Five intensive years were necessary for Neisson to achieve a perfect balance between preserving its exceptional terroir and converting to organic certification (AB label), without ever compromising the finesse and excellence of the final product. This journey marks a decisive milestone for the brand, as it led to the creation of the world's very first organic AOC rum, L’Esprit Bio. Made exclusively from the estate's traditional sugarcane varieties — the prestigious red canes B64, cinnamon B82.033, and zicak B59 — this rum embodies the rare alliance between sustainable innovation and respect for Martinican traditions.

Even today, the Neisson family continues this legacy by running one of the last family-owned distilleries in Martinique, where the estate sources exclusively sugarcane grown on its own 40 hectares, thus ensuring rigorous control and unmatched authenticity.

L’Esprit Bio stands out for its intense aromatic bouquet dominated by fresh and vibrant notes of fresh cane, a true olfactory tribute to the richness of the terroir. From the very first tasting, one is transported to the heart of a cane field during harvest, immersed in the authenticity and vitality of Martinican soil.
