Born from the desire to restore an old maritime tradition and establish fair, responsible, and sustainable trade, the Frères de la Côte acquired a magnificent three-masted ship, the Tres Hombres. This iconic sailing ship transports exceptional products such as chocolate, coffee, wine, line-caught tuna, and of course premium rum, entirely under sail and with complete energy autonomy. This ecological mode of transport allows for an environmentally respectful crossing of the Atlantic while bringing back products of unique origins and incomparable quality. The aged rums carefully selected by the captain of the Tres Hombres during his stops around the Atlantic bear witness to this artisanal know-how and quest for authenticity.
This Premium Double Distillation rum from the Bielle distillery, vintage 2011 is a true gem offered by the Frères de la Côte aboard their famous three-masted ship, the Tres Hombres. Produced in very limited quantities, this exceptional rum is made from sugarcane cultivated and hand-harvested, meticulously cut with a machete. Rapid fermentation is ensured by local indigenous yeasts, thus preserving the authentic and natural aromas of the terroir. The vesou undergoes double distillation, first in a Creole column then in a traditional Muller still, guaranteeing remarkable finesse and aromatic complexity. This rum then aged for 6 years in carefully selected Bourbon barrels, developing rich and harmonious notes.
These exceptional rums were meticulously chosen by the Frères de la Côte directly in the Bielle house's cellar, located in Marie-Galante, a distillery renowned for its unique expertise and ancestral know-how. Subsequently, the rum aged for 6 months aboard the Tres Hombres, where the natural movement of the swell allowed subtle and constant stirring, promoting exceptional maturity. Finally, it was left to rest for one year in the Frères de la Côte cellar in Saint-Étienne to reach perfect balance before being carefully bottled in January 2019.
