RHUM JM - Aged Rum - 10 years - 44.8% 2003
The birth of JM rums begins in the heart of lush vegetation, where one of the most beautiful distilleries is located, at the Fonds-Préville estate in Macouba, Martinique. The first distillations took place in 1845 under the visionary impulse of Jean-Marie Martin, who signed his rums with his initials "JM," thus giving birth to this iconic brand. In 1912, the distillery passed into the hands of Ernest Crassous de Médeuil and his brother Gustave, then manager and owner of the Bellevue estate. Following numerous improvements, the two estates merged to form the current Habitation Fonds-Préville. Today, the Bernard Hayot Group is the majority shareholder of SCA Héritiers Crassous de Médeuil.
The sugar canes are rigorously cultivated on the Fonds-Préville estate, covering 225 hectares, thus guaranteeing optimal quality of the raw material from an exceptional terroir: the slopes of Montagne Pelée. The fermented juices are distilled in two traditional Creole copper columns, up to 72° (no more) to preserve all the aromatic authenticity of the sugar canes. Moreover, the distillery is powered exclusively by the pure spring waters of Montagne Pelée, contributing to the uniqueness and finesse of JM rums.
This JM 2003 Vintage aged 10 years is released each year with the same exacting standards, arousing impatience and passion among connoisseurs, which Clos des Spiritueux is pleased to satisfy. This rum perfectly represents its vintage: after 100% traditional distillation, the eaux-de-vie were aged for 10 years in oak barrels before being bottled in 2015 without dilution, thus offering a cask strength with rare aromatic intensity.
This exceptional rum was bottled in a limited edition, highlighting all the richness and complexity of an extraordinary product, a true treasure for lovers of exceptional rums and discerning collectors.
