Whiskey MICHEL COUVREUR - Fleeting S - distilled in 2009 and matured in a Meursault cask from Florent Gardaudet - 48%
Michel Couvreur , a renowned independent bottler , began his career as a producer and merchant of Burgundy wines. He developed a passion for whisky in 1978, producing his first distillation in 1986 in Edradour, Scotland. His ambition to acquire a Scottish distillery clashed with a family life choice: he finally settled in Bouze-lès-Beaune , in Burgundy, a strategic point between Scotland and Andalusia. It was there that he developed a unique approach to whisky aging, favoring sherry casks, port casks and other atypical containers. The Michel Couvreur house is distinguished by its artisanal rigor, creativity and mastery of blends. Since his death in 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his daughter Alexandra have passionately perpetuated this vision.
Fleeting S is a rare and ephemeral vintage, distilled in 2009 and patiently aged for the last 7 years in a Meursault cask from Domaine Florent Gardaudet. Unpeated, this whisky highlights the subtle dialogue between malt and Burgundy white wine.
Unpeated
"Fleeting S illustrates an unexpected and harmonious encounter between the elegance of whisky and the nobility of wine. This unpeated single malt reveals on the nose delicate aromas of fresh butter, sweet honey and lightly toasted bread, evoking the greatest Meursaults."
