RHUM HSE - Special Reserve - VSOP - 45%
HSE (Habitation Saint Etienne), now known as Clos des Spiritueux, is an iconic distillery in Martinique, founded in 1863 under the name Habitation La Maugée. Originally a traditional Martinican sugar mill, it was transformed into a distillery by Amédée Aubery in 1882, a visionary pioneer who modernized the facilities and used the natural power of the Lézarde river to power production and dilute the sugar cane juices, a method still in use today.
In 1994, under the impetus of Yves and José Hayot, the property was taken over following the judicial recovery of the former management, with meticulous renovation work. The estate, now recognized and classified as a Historic Monument, continues the Martinican tradition by distilling its rum in a traditional Creole copper column, originating from the famous Simon distillery located in François, in the heart of Martinique.
The VSOP rum from Clos des Spiritueux benefits from exceptional aging, long and carefully controlled, in American white oak barrels, giving the product rich, complex aromas and incomparable depth, ideal for lovers of exceptional rums.
