This Long Pond is a remarkable traditional Jamaican rum, distilled in 2006. It underwent meticulous aging in American oak barrels that previously held Bourbon for 14 years in a tropical climate, followed by a subtle refinement of 3 years in a continental climate, thus ensuring exceptional aromatic richness and complexity. Bottled in September 2023, this limited edition is numbered with only 288 bottles produced, making it a highly sought-after collector's item for lovers of exceptional rums and rare spirits.

Many years ago, I had the chance to cross paths with Alain and Grégory in the demanding and fascinating world of spirits. Over our meetings and tastings, a strong friendship developed. To celebrate the first anniversary of Clos des Spiritueux, they exclusively offered this exceptional 17-year-old Long Pond barrel. The quality-price ratio is simply impressive, especially in 2023, as it is rare to find a nectar of such quality for under €100!
In the glass, the rum reveals a splendid warm and luminous golden amber robe, irresistibly inviting tasting. On the nose, the typical esters elegantly express the Jamaican signature I particularly appreciate. The aromatic balance is perfect, neither too discreet nor too powerful. The bouquet presents a refined varnish, notes of essence, black olives, sea brine, and ripe bananas, bringing complexity and richness.
On the palate, this Long Pond reveals salty and tangy flavors, with marked touches of olive and licorice that gently envelop the palate.
