Whisky MICHEL COUVREUR - The Unique - Magnum 1.5 Litre - 44%
The independent bottler Michel Couvreur, renowned for his exceptional expertise, was originally a famous wine producer and merchant from Burgundy. In 1978, he turned to the exciting world of whisky and made his first distillation at the Edradour distillery in 1986. At that time, his ambition was to acquire a distillery in Scotland; however, faced with opposition from his wife, he ultimately chose to settle in Bouze-Lès-Beaune, a strategic location at the crossroads of Scotland and Andalusia. There, he specialized in the maturation and finishing of whiskies, mainly using high-quality Sherry and Port casks. The Michel Couvreur range is remarkably varied and the result of meticulous blending work, rigorous selection of rare casks, and innovative finishing techniques. Since Michel Couvreur's death in 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his wife Alexandra have passionately and excellently continued this exceptional tradition.
The Unique is a prestigious blend of grain whiskies distilled in a Coffey Still, typical of purity and aromatic richness. This whisky was aged for 4 years in carefully selected and previously used oak casks, giving the final product subtle elegance and remarkable depth.
