Luxardo - Maraschino Cherry Liqueur - Maraschino - 32%
Maraschino (or marasquin) is a refined and colorless liqueur, renowned for its unique and delicate aroma. Its exceptional taste mainly comes from the use of marasca distillate or the product obtained from the maceration of carefully selected Marasca cherries in high-quality agricultural ethyl alcohol.
The authentic recipe of this ancient liqueur dates back to the early 16th century, crafted by the Dominican apothecaries of the Zara monastery, located in present-day Croatia (formerly the Italian region of Dalmatia). In 1821, Girolamo Luxardo, consul of the Kingdom of Sardinia, founded a distillery that quickly became the largest and most renowned in this historic region. Despite the near destruction of the distillery during the bombings of 1943 and 1944, the Luxardo house was reborn thanks to Giorgio Luxardo, the sole surviving family member, who relaunched production in Torreglia, in the picturesque region of Veneto, at the heart of Italy. Today, Luxardo operates industrial nurseries where more than 22,000 cherry trees of the prestigious Marasca Luxardo variety are passionately cultivated.
Maraschino is an iconic and essential ingredient in the creation of many classic and contemporary cocktails, bringing an elegant and fruity touch that delights fine spirits and mixology enthusiasts.
