Les Frères de la Côte - La Favorite - Navigation Cuvée 2022 No.1 + Originel White Miniature - Vintage 2021 - 54.7%
Les Frères de la Côte represent a collective of importers and bottlers specialized in products exclusively transported by ecological sailing ships. Founded in 2015 by French sailing captains Raphaël and François Mangin, this innovative company is committed to a sustainable and responsible approach. The Frères de la Côte rums have been bottled since 2017 at their warehouse located in Saint-Étienne, in the heart of the Loire, ensuring optimal traceability. Their main ship, the Très Hombres, is a 32-meter brigantine without an engine, capable of carrying up to 35 tons of goods, demonstrating their commitment to ecological maritime transport with zero emissions. Since 2010, the Très Hombres has completed 12 transatlantic rotations from its home port in the Netherlands. In 2019, the creation of the company La Compagnie des Frères de la Côte marked a major step forward with the rehabilitation of the sailing ship Zeehaen, a brigantine over 45 meters long capable of carrying 120 tons of cargo. This initiative aims to develop a true network of cargo sailing ships to offer a sustainable alternative to traditional maritime transport, with trade that values ecology and a more human approach to transatlantic goods transport.
The Navigation Cuvée 2022 of the agricultural rum Vieux Dynamique from the prestigious Distillery La Favorite comes from rum harvested in 2021, carefully aged in 6 "Black Scale" barrels from the Navarre cooperage. This dynamic aging at sea, carried out aboard the ship Très Hombres, gives the rum a unique aromatic richness, influenced by the constant movement of the waves and the variation of marine climatic conditions. Bottling took place in September 2022 at the Frères de la Côte cellar in Saint-Étienne, capturing the full essence of this artisanal aging process. Each bottle is accompanied by a miniature of Originel white rum selected before departure to sea, offering enthusiasts the opportunity to compare and fully appreciate the exceptional impact of this dynamic sea aging on the rum's flavor profile.
