Wemyss Malts (pronounced "Weyms’ Malts") is a major player as an independent bottler in Scotland, renowned for its exceptional whiskies. Founded in 2005 by siblings William and Isabella Wemyss, this house draws its roots from the rich tradition of Scottish whisky. Indeed, their family has a historical connection to this industry, as the first Haig distillery was established on their lands in the Kingdom of Fife as early as 1840. These lands, known for cultivating high-quality barley, continue to supply the best ingredients to maltsters, thus guaranteeing a whisky of unparalleled purity and refinement. Inspired by his experience with master wine blenders in the South of France, William Wemyss aimed to create bold and unique Scottish whiskies. Meanwhile, Isabella Wemyss carefully selects Scottish Single Malts as well as the most prestigious casks from around the world. Thanks to the expertise of their Master Blender, they elevate these raw materials into unique, flavorful, and distinctive creations.
The Single Cask collection was designed with the intention that each cask chosen for bottling be a true ambassador of the most remarkable characteristic traits of its region of origin. The name given to each whisky thus accurately reflects the exceptional aromas and flavors found in the bottle.
Bananas and Cream was distilled in 2005 by the famous Strathclyde Distillery, located in the Gorbal district of Glasgow, in the heart of Scotland. This Single Grain Whisky is made exclusively from four natural ingredients: pure water, malted barley, whole grains, and yeast. It was meticulously aged for 16 years under the careful supervision of the Wemyss family, in a carefully selected refill cask. Production is limited to only 246 bottles, ensuring exclusivity and rarity.
