THE GLENROTHES - 12 years - 40% ABV
The Glenrothes Distillery is ideally located on the picturesque banks of the River Spey, in the heart of the prestigious Scottish whisky region of Speyside. Founded in 1878 by James Stuart, a renowned former employee of Macallan, the distillery quickly changed hands to belong to William Grant of Glenfiddich, thus consolidating its heritage in the prestigious world of single malts. Despite a history marked by several trials, including three major fires and a powerful explosion that temporarily hindered its production, Glenrothes is today a major distillery, producing annually over 5.5 million liters of alcohol thanks to its 10 traditional stills. Glenrothes whisky is also recognized by the iconic grenadine shape of its bottles, a true symbol of elegance and authenticity.
Although the Glenrothes Single Malt is marketed by the famous London merchant Berry Bros & Rudd, the distillery itself belongs to the Edrington group, which also owns the prestigious houses The Macallan and Highland Park, ensuring unique quality and expertise.
The Glenrothes 12 years old is proudly presented in the Soleo Collection, a tribute to the traditional sun-drying process of grapes in the Jerez region, used for the production of the famous sherries. This method imparts rich and fruity notes to the whisky, particularly sought after by discerning enthusiasts.
