THE GLENROTHES - Bourbon Cask Reserve - 40%
The Glenrothes Distillery is ideally located on the picturesque banks of the Spey River, in the heart of the prestigious Scottish whisky region of Speyside. Founded in 1878 by James Stuart, a former Macallan collaborator, the distillery was quickly acquired by William Grant, owner of Glenfiddich, marking the beginning of a rich and eventful history. Despite several setbacks, including three major fires and a devastating explosion that temporarily slowed production, Glenrothes has established itself as one of Scotland's iconic distilleries.
Today, with its 10 traditional stills, it produces over 5.5 million liters of high-quality alcohol annually. One of Glenrothes' visual signatures lies in its unique grenade-shaped bottles, easily recognizable and prized by whisky enthusiasts worldwide.
It is important to note that while the Glenrothes Single Malt is distributed by the prestigious London merchant Berry Bros & Rudd, the distillery itself is a subsidiary of the Edrington group, which also owns the renowned brands The Macallan and Highland Park.
The Glenrothes Bourbon Cask Reserve – formerly known as Alba Reserve – is a blend 100% made from carefully selected former bourbon casks. This maturation imparts elegant and soft notes to the whisky, marked by vanilla and fruity aromas, promising a refined tasting experience. Additionally, this single malt is kosher certified, meeting the strict requirements of consumers seeking impeccable quality and authenticity.
