Rest & Be Thankful is an exquisite range of independent bottlings belonging to the prestigious Fox Fitzgerald Whisky Trading Company, based in Hereford, England. This exclusive brand was launched in 2012 by the renowned experts Eamonn Jones and Aidan Smith. The name "Rest & Be Thankful" comes from a famous inscription carved on a stone by soldiers who, in 1753, built a military road on the west coast of Scotland. This road, the Glen Croe, was so long and steep that travelers had the tradition of stopping at the summit to "rest and be thankful" for having reached this high point.
With many years of experience, Eamonn Jones and Aidan Smith have led international markets for some of the most respected names in the whisky industry, such as Ian Macleod Distillers (Glengoyne, Tamdhu, Rosebank) and Whyte and Mackay (Dalmore, Jura, Fettercairn). This rare edition of Octomore was bottled by the famous Bruichladdich distillery, located on the mythical island of Islay. This exceptional single malt comes from a single cask (#B000005712), filled on March 19, 2008, carefully aged for 6 years before bottling on November 18, 2014. The cask previously held Bourbon, and the whisky is presented cask strength with an impressive 65.8% ABV. Only 227 bottles of this rare gem were produced, making it a coveted jewel among enthusiasts.
