SAVANNA - Le Must - Small Batch No. 20.01 - 45%
The Savanna Distillery is located in the heart of Réunion Island, an exceptional terroir in the Indian Ocean renowned for the quality of its agricultural and traditional rums. Founded between 1948 and 1950 by the visionary Emile Hugot, this emblematic distillery, originally established in Saint Paul and linked to the eponymous sugar factory, has managed to endure through the decades by cultivating a unique know-how. In 1982, Savanna made a strategic acquisition of a distillation workshop specialized in producing light rum intended for export, notably through a major partnership with a leading German market player. This event marked a decisive turning point in the technological and qualitative development of the distillery, which has since diversified its productions with rigor and excellence.
Today, the Savanna Distillery exports the majority of its rums to a demanding professional clientele worldwide, thus promoting Réunion's excellence. The distillery uses a discontinuous fermentation process, also called the "mother vats" technique, consisting of 8 fermenters of 100 m3<\/sup> each and their satellites. This rigorous fermentation method gives the rum a superior character and aromatic quality, sought after by both amateurs and connoisseurs. The discontinuity of the process is a recognized guarantee of authenticity and sensory excellence, perfectly suited to premium rums.
Savanna Le Must is an exceptional blend of rums made from molasses and distilled in column stills. This traditional aged rum is patiently matured in ex-Cognac casks, bringing finesse and aromatic complexity to each tasting. The noble maturation in ex-Cognac casks imparts subtle notes of dried fruits, fine spices, and a woody elegance, making Savanna Le Must an essential reference for enthusiasts of exceptional rum.
