Tatanka is an iconic artisanal company from Martinique, renowned for its hand-painted artworks on various media, notably glass. Since 1996, a passionate Martinican artist has illustrated in a naive art style authentic scenes of distillery life, thus engraving a vibrant tribute to the meticulous work of the men and women who craft Neisson's exceptional rums. Each special edition offers three unique illustrations, enriching each bottle with an original and cultural artistic touch.
The prestigious Neisson Distillery is located in Le Carbet, Martinique. Founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers, its development is owed to Jean Neisson, a visionary chemical engineer who dedicated his life to perfecting ancestral distillation techniques. Today, the descendants, Claudine and then her son Grégory, continue this legacy of innovation and excellence. Since 2013, the distillery has initiated a transition to rigorous organic farming, culminating in 2016 with the creation of the first organic AOC Martinique rum, available for discerning enthusiasts. More than 40 hectares of cultivated land now follow this sustainable model. After extensive research, Neisson uses its own strains of indigenous yeasts, carefully selected from those naturally present on sugar canes grown at the heart of the distillery. The reasoned selection of cultivated varieties, perfectly adapted to each plot, optimized irrigation management to preserve water resources, as well as advanced effluent treatment, are integral parts of an exemplary ecological approach to produce exceptional agricultural rums, in perfect harmony with the local ecosystem.
This old rum, from the 2014 vintage, bears the evocative name "The Turquoise Rocking Chair". It perfectly embodies the artisanal know-how and aromatic richness characteristic of the Neisson Distillery, offering a memorable tasting experience for exceptional rum lovers.
