Coming from a family established in the Antilles since 1964, Chantal Comte developed a passion for agricole rum, an authentic and refined spirit, to which she was introduced by two renowned specialists, André Depaz and Paul Hayot. Owner of the prestigious Domaine du Château de la Tuilerie in Nîmes where she was a winemaker, she now puts all her expertise and sensitivity at the service of her profession as a selector of exceptional rums, a role she has passionately and rigorously fulfilled since 1983. It was André Depaz, renowned owner of the Plantation de la Montagne Pelée, who encouraged her to create this profession of blend master and specialized bottler of rums, a pioneering profession in 1983, now widespread in the premium spirits world such as whisky.
Today, Chantal Comte rigorously selects and distributes the finest reserves of agricole rums from the French Antilles. Her cuvées, whether cask strength, subtle blends, or rare vintages, perfectly embody the "quintessence of the aromas of great rums" according to the laudatory words of Alain Ducasse, a world-renowned chef. This unique signature makes her an essential figure in the world of high-end spirits, offering an incomparable tasting experience to enthusiasts and collectors.
