The Longueteau family settled in Guadeloupe as early as 1766, thus establishing a tradition of agricultural and artisanal excellence. It was at the end of the 19th century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the Marquisate of Sainte-Marie, which was auctioned off following the severe crisis in the local sugar industry. A few years later, in 1895, he transformed the Espérance estate, changing its status from a simple sugar factory to a renowned distillery, marking the beginning of a unique adventure in the world of rum.
Today, François Longueteau continues this heritage within the Longueteau house, the only distillery in Guadeloupe where the owner is both a farmer and master distiller. Their rums are made 100% from their own sugarcane, rigorously cultivated on site. The harvest is done at full maturity, with crushing carried out the same day. The fermentation, lasting precisely 48 hours, is done "without tricks": no additives, antifoams, or acidifiers are added, ensuring unmatched authenticity and purity of taste. Distillation then takes place in a Savalle column equipped with 28 plates, guaranteeing finesse and aromatic complexity.
This exceptional Longueteau Constellation rum pays tribute to the first navigators of the famous Route du Rhum, whose 40th anniversary we celebrate here. The name "Constellation" refers to the old navigation methods when sailors oriented themselves by the stars in the dark night. This exceptional white rum is made exclusively from Red Cane (R579) in a very limited edition, with only 480 numbered bottles.
