RHUM LONGUETEAU - White Rum - Parcellaire Selection Red Cane No. 1 - Numbered x/6000 - 55% ABV
The Longueteau family settled in Guadeloupe in 1766, establishing a rich agricultural and artisanal tradition spanning several centuries. Towards the end of the 19th century, Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the prestigious Marquisat de Sainte-Marie, sold at auction following a severe crisis in the sugar industry. In 1895, he turned this vision into action by purchasing the Espérance estate, thus converting the domain originally intended for sugar production into a renowned distillery.
Today, François Longueteau continues this unique heritage in Guadeloupe: he is both a farmer and master distiller. This dual role guarantees incomparable quality, as the rums are made 100% from sugarcane grown on the estate itself. The harvest is carried out at peak maturity, and the juice is crushed the same day. The natural fermentation lasts 48 hours and is done "without tricks" — without additives such as antifoams or acidifiers — and the distillation is performed in a Savalle column with 28 plates. The estate has 12 plots where two emblematic varieties grow: red cane (R579) and blue (B69.566).
This Longueteau White Rum Parcellaire Selection No. 1 comes exclusively from plot No. 1, entirely planted with red cane. This plot, exposed to intense sunlight and evolving in a very dry and characteristic terroir, gives the rum an exceptional aromatic power. Offering a profile marked by fresh notes of vibrant citrus, its finish is complex and harmonious, between subtle spices and an irresistible menthol freshness. Thanks to this parcellaire selection, Longueteau offers an immersive experience, a true invitation to a sensory journey to the heart of Guadeloupe.
