RHUM NEISSON - 18 years - Batch 2 - 46.10% ABV
Neisson is an iconic distillery born during the interwar period, in 1931, when the brothers Adrien and Hildebert Pamphile, known as Jean Neisson, acquired the La Thieulbert estate, which then had 20 hectares of sugar cane plantations. Located in the northwest of Martinique, near Saint-Pierre and at the majestic foot of Mount Pelée, this plantation benefits from an exceptional terroir. The elder brother, Adrien, initiated the establishment of a small distillery on site, while the younger, Jean Neisson, completed his studies in Paris. While Adrien perfected rum production on the island, Jean developed an import-export company in the French capital to market these exceptional rums. Passionate about quality, he invested his expertise and technical knowledge by commissioning a Savalle column still modified according to his specifications, thus optimizing the distillation processes to enhance the unique aromas of Neisson rum.
Today, the Neisson-Vernant family still passionately runs this artisanal distillery, one of the last true family-run estates in Martinique. The estate produces exclusively from cane grown on its own 40 hectares, ensuring impeccable traceability and quality.
A true jewel of Martinican heritage, this Neisson 18 years Batch 2 is a rare vintage grand cru from 1997. Crafted in strict compliance with the specifications of the Martinique Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC), this exceptional rum is a limited edition of only 750 bottles, intended for the most discerning connoisseurs.
This exceptional bottle represents a unique opportunity for Neisson to concentrate its traditional know-how into an exceptional vintage, reflecting the excellence and prestige of Martinican distillation.
