BRUICHLADDICH - Classic Laddie Scottish Barley - 50%
Bruichladdich Distillery , an iconic distillery in Islay, Scotland , is renowned for producing handcrafted single malt whiskies with unparalleled flavors. It produces its creations under three prestigious names: Bruichladdich (unpeated), Port Charlotte (heavily peated), and Octomore (ultra peated). The distillery also produces the famous botanical gin , The Botanist . Founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers, Bruichladdich Distillery had a turbulent history before its revival in 2000 thanks to the investment of Mark Reynier (Murray McDavid), a renowned whisky figure who now also owns Waterford whiskies in Ireland. After a complete reconstruction respecting its Victorian heritage, the distillery remains unique: it operates by gravity, avoiding any computerization of its traditional manufacturing process. In 2012, the iconic house of Rémy Cointreau took over the distillery. Bruichladdich makes a point of guaranteeing the traceability of the barley used, exclusively Scottish, and places transparency at the heart of its communication.
The Bruichladdich range is distinguished by its unpeated single malts, giving pride of place to the pure expression of the terroir and barley. For those who love intense sensations, the distillery offers heavily peated whiskies under the name Port Charlotte , while Octomore stands out as the most peated series in the world, acclaimed by connoisseurs and offered in sought-after limited editions.
The casks selected for each batch of The Classic Laddie contain exclusively distillate made from 100% premium Scottish barley . Each bottle displays a unique code, guaranteeing total transparency on its origin: number of casks, years of harvest, types of barley, types of casks used. For example, batch n°20/181 results from the meticulous blend of 80 casks, 4 vintages, 3 barley varieties and 11 types of casks, thus giving the Classic Laddie a singular aromatic profile, dominated by fruity, floral notes and a vanilla malt sweetness.
