Located in the heart of Speyside in Scotland , the Aberlour distillery takes its name from the nearby village, whose Gaelic name means "mouth of the babbling brook". Founded in 1879 by James Fleming , it benefits from a pure water spring gushing from the pink granite of Ben Rinnes, an essential element for the quality of its whisky. In 1898, a major fire partially destroyed the distillery, which was rebuilt under the direction of the renowned architect Charles Doig. In 1974, production capacity was doubled thanks to the addition of two additional stills, increasing from 2 to 4. Since 1975, Aberlour has been part of the Pernod Ricard group, managed by its subsidiary Chivas Brothers .
Today, the four stills produce approximately 3.5 million liters of alcohol annually. During distillation, the master distiller selects only the heart of the distillation—the purest and most aromatic part, rich in delicate berry notes—for maturation. The heads and tails are reintroduced into the still for further distillation, ensuring consistent quality.
The name A'Bunadh , meaning "the original" in Gaelic, pays homage to founder James Fleming. The A'Bunadh Alba version is distinguished by exclusive aging in first-fill American oak barrels, called Quercus Alba .

"Aberlour A'Bunadh Alba offers an intense and sophisticated aromatic profile. The nose opens with aromas of ripe fruit, enhanced by touches of melted caramel and vanilla wood. On the palate, it displays a rich and warm texture, with deep flavors of black cherries, spiced honey, and dark chocolate, for a gourmet and well-balanced experience."
