Whisky Michel Couvreur – Intravaganza – L3449 – 50%
Michel Couvreur, a former Burgundy wine merchant, developed a passion for whisky in the late 1970s. In 1986, he distilled for the first time in Edradour, Scotland. Rather than buying a distillery, he chose to set up in Bouze-lès-Beaune , between Scotland and Andalusia , to focus on barrel aging . His whiskies are matured primarily in Sherry and Port casks , with particular attention paid to blending, barrel selection, and experimentation. Since 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his wife Alexandra have continued this demanding, artisanal vision.
Intravaganza is an unpeated whisky, aged for 3 years in Moscatel and Oloroso Sherry casks .
" A young but already expressive whisky, which combines the suppleness of Sherry with a lovely tension. Intravaganza plays on the contrast between freshness and richness, with a full and warm mouthfeel, underlined by a lively finish. A beautiful introduction to the Couvreur universe, full of spontaneity and character."
