Wemyss Malts (pronounced "Weyms' Malts") is an independent bottler from Scotland . The company was founded in 2005 by brother and sister William and Isabella Wemyss . The family has direct links to the history of Scotch whisky, when Haig built the first distillery on their land in the Kingdom of Fife in 1840. The land has been used for many decades to grow quality barley and continues to supply the best to maltsters for whisky production. Enthused by his time spent with the wine blending experts of the South of France, William Wemyss was inspired to create distinctive and bold Scotch whiskies. Isabella Wemyss, with her eye and nose for uncompromising quality, sources Single Malts from Scotland and the finest casks from around the world . With the skills of their trusted Master Blenders, they take these precious ingredients and transform them into new and tasty creations.

Balcomie is a Lowland single malt made from barley grown locally at the distillery in the Kingdom of Fife. It is aged exclusively in American oak casks that have previously contained Oloroso sherry .
