Whisky MICHEL COUVREUR - Overaged Malt Whisky - 52%
The independent bottler Michel Couvreur is an iconic figure in the world of prestigious artisanal whisky. Originally a producer and wine merchant from Burgundy, Michel Couvreur turned to creating exceptional whiskies starting in 1978. His first distillation took place at the Edradour distillery in 1986. Initially wishing to acquire a distillery in Scotland, he ultimately chose to settle in Bouze-Lès-Beaune, a unique location situated between Scotland and Andalusia, to perfectly master the aging of his whiskies. His specialty lies in maturation in Sherry and Port casks, offering his malts an incomparable aromatic complexity. The Michel Couvreur range stands out for its great variety and meticulous craftsmanship combining precise blending, rigorous selection of new casks, and innovative aging techniques. Since Michel Couvreur's passing in 2013, his legacy has been preserved by his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and his wife Alexandra, who continue this quest for excellence.
Overaged is a refined blend of whiskies carefully aged between 12 and 20 years, benefiting from extended maturation in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This limited edition is bottled at a powerful natural strength of 52%, guaranteeing an intense, rich, and velvety tasting experience.
