Craigellachie - 17 years old - 46% ABV
The Craigellachie distillery is ideally located in the charming village of Craigellachie, in the heart of the prestigious Speyside region in Scotland, a world-renowned area for exceptional whiskies. Founded in 1891 by the blender and merchant group Craigellachie Distillery Co. Limited under the visionary leadership of Alexander Edward, this iconic distillery has stood the test of time. Ownership passed from Peter Mackie in 1916, to the Distillery Company Limited in 1927, then to SMD in 1930. In 1964, the distillery doubled its number of stills, thereby increasing its production capacity. Since 1998, the distillery has been operated by John Dewar & Sons Ltd, who also oversee the prestigious distilleries Royal Brackla, Aberfeldy, Aultmore, and Macduff, ensuring unparalleled expertise in the whisky world.
Craigellachie 17 years old, an exceptional Single Malt, is initially carefully matured in a harmonious blend of ex-Bourbon casks and ex-Sherry casks. To offer a unique aromatic richness, half of the whisky is then finished in first-fill Sherry casks, while the other half rests in first-fill Bourbon casks, bringing rare complexity and depth of flavors.
