The Ron Coloma is meticulously crafted at the prestigious Hacienda Coloma, an iconic coffee production estate located at 1,700 meters altitude, in the heart of Colombia, a country globally renowned for the exceptional quality of its coffees. Don Alberto Constain Medina, a passionate visionary, dreamed of creating a rum with a unique and authentically Colombian character. It was only in 2005, after several years of struggles and attempts at illegal distillation, that the Colombian government partially relaxed its monopoly on spirit production, thus opening the way to a new era of excellence. Although Don Alberto has since passed away, his son has taken up the mantle, bringing his father's dream to life. Today, in addition to this exceptional coffee liqueur, he also produces an outstanding rum, in collaboration with the two best Colombian master rum makers, Sandra Restegui and Judith Ramirez, recognized for their unique expertise and mastery of the fermentation and aging process.
To create this premium coffee liqueur, the choice was made to use an exceptional molasses rum aged 3 years, which is then subtly blended with a natural infusion of hand-selected coffee beans slowly roasted to reveal their full aromatic richness. This unique combination gives the liqueur a perfect balance between the sweetness of the rum and the aromatic intensity of Colombian coffee. The resulting liqueur then undergoes a maturation period of 8 to 10 weeks in single-use American oak barrels, promoting the development of delicate woody notes and an incomparable smoothness on the palate. Every step of its production is designed to guarantee superior quality, aimed at discerning enthusiasts seeking the authenticity and excellence of Colombian spirits.
