Craigellachie - 13 years - 46%
The Craigellachie distillery is located in the charming village of Craigellachie, in the heart of the prestigious Speyside region in Scotland, renowned for its exceptional whiskies. Founded in 1891 by Craigellachie Distillery Co. Limited, a consortium of blenders and merchants led by Alexander Edward, this distillery embodies Scottish history and craftsmanship. Over the decades, ownership evolved from Peter Mackie in 1916 to the Distillery Company Limited in 1927, then to Scottish Malt Distillers (SMD) in 1930. In 1964, the distillery doubled its equipment with the installation of new stills, thereby increasing its production capacity. Since 1998, John Dewar & Sons Ltd has overseen the management of Craigellachie, along with other iconic distilleries such as Royal Brackla, Aberfeldy, Aultmore, and Macduff, ensuring consistent quality and exceptional expertise.
Craigellachie 13 years is a carefully crafted Single Malt, initially matured in a harmonious combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks. This unique maturation imparts a subtle and complex aromatic richness to the whisky. Half of the whisky is then finished in first-fill Sherry casks, bringing characteristic fruity and spicy notes, while the other half rests in first-fill Bourbon casks, revealing elegant vanilla and woody touches. This finishing process gives this malt a perfect balance and exceptional depth of flavor, prized by enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.
