The Giffard Distillery, iconic and rich in history since 1885, was founded by Émile Giffard, a passionate pharmacist in Angers. From the beginning, he innovated by creating a mint-based liqueur known for its refreshing and digestive properties, the famous Menthe-Pastille. Today, more than 130 years later and with four family generations, this artisanal distillery employs 87 dedicated collaborators and exports its premium products to more than 10 countries across four continents.
This exceptional liqueur is made from a carefully performed maceration using the "cold brew" method with Honduran coffee. Giffard has meticulously selected the Lenca coffee from Honduras, a pure Arabica coffee of unique origin, certified organic and fair trade, grown in the preserved mountainous regions of Honduras. This exceptional coffee results from a harmonious blend of recognized varieties (catuai, caturra, typica, bourbon), carefully washed, not dried, then expertly roasted in France to guarantee an incomparable aromatic richness.
