The Raasay Distillery is nestled on the mystical Isle of Raasay, in the heart of the splendid Hebridean Islands of Scotland, renowned for their wild landscapes and rich malt heritage. This artisanal distillery produces two exceptional spirits: the Isle of Raasay Gin of great finesse, and the Isle of Raasay Whisky, a refined Scottish malt that captivates the most discerning enthusiasts. All spirits are rigorously distilled, aged, and bottled on-site, using pure, mineral-rich water from the historic well Tobar na Ba Bàine, meaning "well of the pale cow." This unique terroir imparts a remarkable organoleptic signature to every drop. Raasay Distillery is proud to sustainably support local employment and the island economy, embodying a true Scottish tradition.
This rare single malt brings together two emblematic expressions of the Isle of Raasay, peated and unpeated, matured separately in a carefully crafted blend of new rye whisky casks (63%), fresh Chinkapin oak (26%), and first-fill Bordeaux red wine casks (11%), totaling 6 exceptional casks. The R-02.01 was made from the finest Concerto and Laureate barley harvested and distilled in 2018 and 2019, benefiting from optimal maturation. It was bottled between September 15 and October 10, 2022, offering a deep and balanced aromatic complexity.
