The Foursquare Rum Distillery (as well as Heritage Park) is located in the south of Barbados, an island renowned for the exceptional quality of its rums. This prestigious distillery belongs to the Seale family, who carry on a unique expertise with over five generations of rum-making experience since 1820. Foursquare is recognized as one of the oldest and most emblematic houses in Barbados. Historically, Reginald Leon Seale, faced with legal restrictions on the direct sale of rum to consumers under Barbados excise laws, innovated by creating a distribution company in Bridgetown in the early 1900s, giving birth to the R. L. Seale brand. Between 1962 and 1993, the range was enriched with iconic rums such as ESA Field, Alleyne Arthur, including Old Brigand, Taylor's Falernum, and Doorly’s, thus diversifying the portfolio. To optimize their presence, ESA Field and Old Brigand remained focused on the local market where they are very popular, while Doorly became a flagship export brand. In 1995, under the visionary leadership of Sir David Seale, the family bought an old sugar factory with a building dating back to 1636, now renovated to become the modern Foursquare distillery. The distillery today uses a three-column still to produce light rums and a modern copper pot still for rums with more complex profiles. All rums are carefully produced from fermented molasses in small batches, usually 112 barrels, then aged tropically in small American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels, stored in impressive open-walled warehouses. A large part of these barrels comes from a famous distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, ensuring exceptional finishing and aging.
Isonomy is an exceptional blend composed of rums distilled both in copper pot stills and double column stills. This exceptional rum was aged for 17 years in ex-Bourbon barrels, giving it a deep aromatic complexity, blending woody, spicy, and sweet notes, enhanced by a powerful natural alcohol strength of 58.2%.
