The Domaine Brana is located in Ossès, in the heart of the Basque Country, a region renowned for its craftsmanship and traditions. Founded in 1974 by Etienne Brana and his wife Adrienne, this family estate gave birth to an innovative distillery accompanied by an orchard of William pear trees. A passionate self-taught distiller, Etienne Brana mastered the ancestral art of distillation by building his own still. Today, his children Martine and Jean continue this precious heritage. Martine, an expert distiller, notably enriches the traditional know-how by exploring new combinations with fruits, spices, and local plants. The fruit eaux-de-vie and artisan liqueurs of the estate are meticulously crafted by maceration or slow distillation in copper pot stills, guaranteeing exceptional quality.
This remarkable eau-de-vie is made from organic citrons sourced from small Corsican plantations, carefully selected for their purity and natural aroma. The fruits are hand-picked directly from the tree, then transported in refrigerated trucks to the distillery, ensuring optimal preservation of their freshly retained flavors. After careful manual preparation and a rigorously controlled maceration process, distillation is carried out in traditional red copper pot stills, true guarantors of the aromatic finesse of the eau-de-vie. The finished product is then stored in stainless steel tanks, where the qualitative evolution of esters is closely monitored. This rigorous monitoring allows identifying the ideal maturation time before bottling, to offer connoisseurs a unique tasting experience, rich in aromas and authenticity.
