The renowned Castan Distillery, located in Villeneuve-sur-Vère in the Occitanie region, embodies a strong family heritage since 1941. At that time, the Castan family traveled through the villages of Tarn and Aveyron with a mobile still, a rare tradition symbolizing ancestral French know-how. Gilbert Castan, founder of this unique activity, passed his expertise to his son and then to his grandson Sébastien, the current master distiller. Facing the disappearance of itinerant distillers, the third generation reinvented the craft with passion. In 2007, Sébastien Castan created an innovative distillery dedicated to fruit and whisky, producing its first whisky in February 2010, a true signature of exceptional French spirits.
This limited edition was carefully distilled in 2017 and aged in a , thus bringing remarkable aromatic complexity and unique finesse to this single malt. This exceptional whisky comes from a single cask (#144), bottled in 2022, guaranteeing a pure and authentic expression of the Occitan terroir.
