KILL DEVIL - Clarendon 2007 - Jamaica 14 years - Single Cask - 59.10%
Edition Spirits is an exceptional independent bottling company founded by brothers Scott and Andrew Laing in Glasgow. Coming from a prestigious lineage, they are sons of Stewart Laing, Director of Hunter Laing and former renowned founder of Douglas Laing. After Stewart Laing's separation from Douglas Laing in 2013, Scott and Andrew joined their father at Hunter Laing, thus integrating Edition Spirits as the operational branch of Hunter Laing. The famous First Editions series was transferred into their portfolio. While primarily specializing in high-level Blended and Single Malt whiskies, they have also had the privilege over the years to acquire rare and precious stocks of aged rums from emblematic regions such as Guyana and Jamaica.
In the 17th and 18th centuries, islanders nicknamed their local distillates "Kill Devil." Although many ancient superstitions have disappeared today, the Caribbean remains the preferred source of exotic, authentic, and historically rich rums. The Kill Devil series celebrates the exceptional quality and unique diversity of Caribbean and international rums. Each Single Cask is carefully selected to be shipped to Scotland, then bottled traditionally, artisanally, and rigorously by hand, thus guaranteeing an exclusive tasting experience.
This remarkable rum was distilled in a traditional pot still in May 2007, on the island of Jamaica, in the Clarendon region. It benefited from an exceptional aging of 14 years in cask before being carefully bottled in Scotland. This limited edition counts only 241 bottles, reflecting all the richness and aromatic depth of this exceptional rum.
