The Bruichladdich Distillery is nestled on the wild isle of Islay, at the heart of Scottish heritage. Renowned for its exceptional whiskies, it produces Single Malts under three prestigious brands: Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte, and Octomore. In addition to its rare whiskies, the distillery also produces the famous The Botanist Gin, known for its finesse and unique botanical aromas. Bruichladdich's production is recognized for its non-peated Single Malts, while the peated editions are marketed under the Port Charlotte brand. The exclusive Octomore range, meanwhile, stands out for its limited editions with the highest peat level ever achieved among Scottish Single Malts.

Octomore 12.1 comes from distillation carried out in 2015, using Scottish Concerto barley harvested in 2014. This rare whisky has been carefully aged for 5 years in first-fill American whiskey barrels, ensuring exceptional aromatic complexity, blending power and finesse.

Founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers, Bruichladdich has endured many challenges, including a major fire in 1934 followed by the death of William Harvey in 1936, which led to frequent changes of ownership and its closure in 1994. The revival came in 2000 thanks to a group of investors led by Mark Reynier from Murray McDavid, also behind the renowned Waterford whiskeys in Ireland.
Completely dismantled and then rebuilt, the distillery today retains its historic Victorian equipment, operating by gravity without the use of computerized systems. In 2012, it came under the prestigious Rémy Cointreau group. Bruichladdich Distillery places great importance on the traceability and quality of barley, thus enhancing the pure and original expression of this unique terroir.
