Tatanka is a recognized artisanal company from Martinique, specialized in creating hand-painted artworks on various supports, including rum bottles. Since 1996, a passionate Martinican artist has been designing these unique works directly on glass, adopting a naive art style that evokes the local cultural richness. These bottles depict authentic scenes of daily life at the distillery, emotionally paying tribute to the hard work of the men and women involved in crafting the prestigious Neisson rums. For each limited edition, three original and exclusive illustrations are offered, making each bottle a true collectible work of art.
The Neisson Distillery, a jewel of Martinican heritage, is located in the heart of Carbet in Martinique. Founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers, this family distillery built its reputation thanks to the scientific expertise of Jean Neisson, a chemical engineer who dedicated his life to perfecting ancestral distillation techniques. Today, his heirs, Claudine and then her son Grégory, continue this tradition of excellence and innovation. In line with current environmental expectations, the distillery committed in 2013 to a transition towards certified organic farming. In 2016, it proudly launched the first organic rum benefiting from the Martinique AOC, a true benchmark for quality and respect for the terroir. Gradually, all of the more than 40 hectares of farmland are being converted according to these sustainable principles.
Resulting from years of in-depth research, Neisson exploits exclusive strains of indigenous yeasts, rigorously selected from those naturally present on the canes grown on site. This natural choice, combined with a reasoned selection of cane varieties optimized for each plot, as well as controlled irrigation management to preserve water resources, ensures exemplary production. Moreover, the efficient and ecological management of effluents demonstrates the distillery's strong commitment to protecting the local ecosystem. All these elements contribute today to the creation of exceptional agricultural rums, recognized for their finesse and authenticity.
