Tatanka is a renowned artisanal company from Martinique, specializing in the creation of hand-painted works on various authentic supports. Since 1996, a talented Martinican artist has been drawing directly on glass, adopting a unique and captivating naive art style. These bottles thus become true works of art illustrating iconic life scenes from the Neisson distillery. Each creation pays a vibrant tribute to the meticulous work of the men and women who passionately contribute to the making of these exceptional rums. For each special edition, three different original illustrations are offered, making each bottle a precious collector's item.
The prestigious Neisson Distillery, located in Carbet, Martinique, was founded in 1932 by the Neisson brothers. Jean Neisson, a chemical engineer by training, dedicated his life to perfecting distillation techniques, thus advancing the art of agricole rum. His descendants, Claudine and then her son Grégory, continue this ancestral family tradition today. Committed to an exemplary eco-responsible approach, the distillery began transitioning to certified organic farming in 2013. By 2016, the first organic AOC Martinique rum was offered to discerning enthusiasts. Gradually, over 40 hectares of cultivated land have shifted to this sustainable agricultural method. After years of precise research, Neisson now uses its own strains of selected indigenous yeasts, naturally present on the distillery's sugarcane, ensuring optimal and authentic fermentation. Furthermore, the careful choice of cane varieties adapted to the topography of each plot, strict irrigation control to preserve water resources, and efficient, respectful treatment of effluents actively contribute to producing high-end agricole rums in full harmony with the sustainable local ecosystem.
This single cask dated September 29, 2010, bottled exclusively for La Maison du Whisky in 2017, proudly bears the evocative name "La Case Créole". This rare and unique cuvée embodies all the richness of the Martinican terroir and the excellence of Neisson's craftsmanship.
